The Bioextruder is technology specifically designed to improve the biogas yield from traditional agricultural feedstocks such as maize and whole crop silage as well as allowing you to use other, previously hard to digest, substrate materials such as straw.

  • Secure your feedstock supplies and reduce your feedstock bill

  • Improve biogas yields from maize silage by up to 15%

  • Create new feedstock sources such as straw and low quality grass

  • Recycle separated digestate for up to 100m3/t of biogas

  • Get 400+m3/tonne of biogas from straw

  • Improve feedstock associated emissions for RHI sustainability criteria

Services

At Rika we provide turnkey solutions to assist biogas plant operators and owners to reduce their feedstock bill through the design of integrated systems that can process alternative and existing feedstock materials so that bills are reduced and profits are increased.

We like to undertake early upfront consultation to really understand the feedstock strategy of individual plants. We work with the client to then optimise the use of existing feedstock and, where possible, suggest the introduction of more cost effective alternatives such as, for example, straw or farm yard manure.

Technology

The central technology of the solutions we offer is the Bioextruder which can create totally new feedstock options such as straw and desiccated grasses or increase the biogas yield of traditional substrates such as maize or grass silage.

Depending on the solution required we can also specify equipment that can increase yields, speed up digestion and remove extraneous materials. These items normally sit in line with the extruder to produce a fully integrated feeding and feedstock processing solution that ultimately reduces your running costs.

Quick News

18-9-2023

RBT has had a good year as the Indian biogas market starts to gain traction. The dreadful toll that the pandemic has taken in the country has been one of the reasons for a slow start to the government's ambitious targets for deployment of biogas plants- 5000 by 2023. But things are moving now and Rika has sold 15 Bioextruders to plants that will process straw and other agricultural residues. Watch this space for more details as the projects develop.
